John Mayer: Taylor Swift Song 'Made Me Feel Terrible'

Taylor Swift has never confirmed whether her song "Dear John" is about John Mayer, but the musician certainly thinks it is – and he's not a fan.

"It made me feel terrible," Mayer, 34, tells Rolling Stone in its latest issue.

"Because I didn't deserve it. I'm pretty good at taking accountability now, and I never did anything to deserve that. It was a really lousy thing for her to do."

Swift, 22, is known for writing songs about her exes, and in "Dear John," she sings, "Don't you think I was too young to be messed with?"

The song appears on the country superstar's 2010 album Speak Now, which was released shortly after she was briefly linked to Mayer.

Mayer himself recently issued a mea culpa regarding interviews he gave revealing intimate details of his relationships with Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Aniston.

Of Swift's song, he tells Rolling Stone: "I never got an e-mail. I never got a phone call. I was really caught off-guard, and it really humiliated me at a time when I'd already been dressed down. I mean, how would you feel if, at the lowest you've ever been, someone kicked you even lower?"

Mayer also apparently takes issue with Swift as a musician.

"As a songwriter … I think it's kind of cheap songwriting," he tells Rolling Stone. "I know she's the biggest thing in the world, and I'm not trying to sink anybody's ship, but I think it's abusing your talent to rub your hands together and go, 'Wait till he gets a load of this!' That's bull––––."
