Trent Reznor announced in February he was reactivating the band he split in 2009, then later admitted he’d been working on Hesitation Marks for much longer than that.
He’s said the new material is inspired by taking a new look at NIN’s 1994 classic The Downward Spiral. He recently recalled how David Bowie offered him “shamanish advice” when the art-rock icon had resolved his addiction issues while Reznor was stroll struggling with his own.
Hesitation Marks is released on September 2 while NIN play Reading and Leeds on the weekend of August 23-25.
