'Avengers' Already A Smash Overseas

The Avengers have already started to assemble overseas, and early box-office reports are spelling very good things for Marvel's tentpole. The superhero movie that brings together Captain America, Iron Man, Thor and the Hulk has reportedly made $12.5 million in a handful of foreign markets and is already breaking records, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

In Australia, "The Avengers" has already banked $7 million, a total that has only been beaten by "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2," which earned $8 million during its Down Under debut.

The foreign rollout has proven lucrative elsewhere, too, as France added $3 million to the total.

Early tracking estimated that "The Avengers" could make more than $150 million during its early May opening weekend in the U.S. That would put the film in the same class as "Spider-Man 3," "The Hunger Games," "The Dark Knight" and "Deathly Hallows, Part 2."

This could potentially mean the biggest debut for a Marvel Studios movie yet. "Iron Man 2" currently holds that honor. The Robert Downey Jr. sequel opened to $128 million back in 2010. That's followed by the first "Iron Man" at $98 million.

"The Avengers" has the added advantage of higher ticket prices. The film is playing both in 3-D and in IMAX 3-D, so each individual ticket will add more to the final total. "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2" saw a large bump in its record-breaking run thanks in part to higher prices attached to 3-D showings.

Booted Idol Elise Testone Wants to Duet with Steven Tyler

American Idol's Elise Testone experienced a tiny taste of a dream when Steven Tyler joined her in song during her sendoff performance Thursday.

What was it like sharing the mic with a rock legend?

"Awesome," said a beaming Testone following her elimination from the competition. "It would be great to do a whole song."

So it's no surprise that Testone, 28, named the judge as her dream collaboration. "Steven Tyler would be a great duet," she said. "I love him. He's the man."

Tyler may not have been on board with Testone's song choices Wednesday night, but that doesn't mean a future collaboration is out of the question. "Steven said he fell in love with me," said the South Carolina native.

Testone, who taught voice lessons in Charleston, S.C., before competing on Idol, plans to focus on writing songs and planning her album during the American Idol Live! tour. But she doesn't discount an eventual return to her roots.

"I wouldn't mind seeing some students and picking up some [voice lessons] again," she says. "I wouldn't mind opening up a new school and hiring great people to [teach]. I love working with the students and the kids and being a mentor for them, so if I had the opportunity, I would do it."

For now, the soulful singer is just looking forward to heading home – and spending some time with a special guy in her life, her dog Leon, who’s been struggling with health issues.

"First thing I'm gonna do is see my dog cause he almost died and now he's better," she says. "I'm going to take him to the park and just watch him run around."

"And I really want to clean my apartment," she added. "I just keep picturing dust and that's bothering me a lot."

The Shocking Truth About the Best Way to Learn Guitar

So I'm just going to say this outright. Not everyone is gifted with the skills necessary to learn music. Yeah, I said it. Some people just suck at the guitar. That's the way it is. Others can sing along with it and some can dance to it, but there is really only a chosen few who can actually sit down and learn to play a specific musical instrument. If you fall into the first category, it's going to take all your endearing and overflowing patience, and whole lot of your precious time to be able to pull off a simple melody without sounding like a dog in a bear trap. Unfortunately that's just one predicament most beginners have to deal with when learning the guitar.

I am going to be discussing how to play one instrument that is considered to be the most popular amongst all the others for the several reasons, a few being that its one of the cheapest and one you pretty much drag around anywhere and play anytime. That's the guitar by the way.

Now as a professional guitarist and teacher of music I can say unequivocally that I have had to give it my all in order to master the art of playing the guitar. This is not an uncommon statement amongst professionals. It took most of us a heck of a lot of determination and patience to learn to make that piece of wood sing, a sentiment which is common to all instruments. If you have the patience to put in five hour practice sessions a day for the next couple of years, then the guitar might be for you.

The next question that comes to mind is whether to pursue acoustic or electric guitar. You want to know the real truth? In the beginning it doesn't really matter, both are going to be difficult to play. The electric is a little bit easier to manipulate, but I personally do not like how it sounds to sit and bang out chords on an electric for an hour or more. On the other hand you will bleed if you start on acoustic...there's really no way around that.

If you are still having second thoughts, but you really, really want to learn, then you will have to push past the negativity and begin as soon as possible...That would mean now....What better time is there?

The absolute most important thing you can do to insure that you learn the guitar well is to follow a proven program of instruction. Make sure that any program you follow is organized, easy and step by step. This is what I mean by the best way to learn guitar.

Prince William and Kate turn heads at film premiere

LONDON - Britain's Prince William and wife Catherine walked the red carpet Wednesday at the premiere of a film on African wildlife in their first official engagement since his return from the Falklands.

They were guests of honour at the London screening of Disney's African Cats, which tells the story of a pride of lions and a family of cheetahs. The premiere is raising money for British-based conservation charity Tusk Trust.

Catherine, whose official title is Duchess of Cambridge, appeared in a dove-grey dress with jade detailing which online royal watchers quickly identified as a work of Welsh designer Matthew Williamson.

The couple will mark their first wedding anniversary on Sunday and celebrate it "privately", a spokeswoman said.

Their wedding drew global television audiences of two billion.

William was deployed to the Falklands for six weeks in February and March on a tour of duty as a search and rescue pilot, enraging Argentina, which condemned the prince's tour as a "provocation".

Britain has held the Falklands since 1833 but Buenos Aires claims they are occupied Argentinian territory.

Lindsay Lohan I Can't Believe Rosie O'Donnell Betrayed Me

Lindsay Lohan is in utter shock after Rosie O'Donnell bashed her on live television yesterday -- telling friends, she's always had a great relationship with Rosie ... or so she thought.

Sources close to LiLo tell TMZ, there was never any bad blood between the two actresses -- in fact, Lindsay and Rosie were always on great terms ... Lindsay would even say hello to Rosie whenever she saw her at various events. Rosie was always nice to her.

According to sources, Lindsay always had a special fondness for Rosie -- because one of Lindsay's first ever talk show appearances was on Rosie's old show back in 1998 ... when a 12-year-old Lindsay was promoting "The Parent Trap."

But even though she's surprised ... Lindsay isn't upset -- because Rosie's not the only person who doubts Lindsay's comeback ... starting with her upcoming Liz Taylor role.

As far as Lindsay's concerned -- Rosie's just another hater she's gotta prove wrong.

New Rolling Stones Movie in the Works

The Rolling Stones will hit the silver screen once again. Deadline Hollywood reports that Virgin Produced, the movie branch of Richard Branson's business empire, has just acquired the film rights to Robert Greenfield's 2008 book Exile on Main Street: A Season in Hell.

While countless documentaries have been made about the Stones, the movie that Virgin Produced is developing will be a drama about the summer that the band spent in the South of France recording their 1972 double album, Exile on Main Street. It will focus particularly on the sometimes-tumultuous relationship between Mick Jagger and Keith Richards.

In a 2010 interview on the making of that classic album, Keith Richards told Rolling Stone, "It wasn't a great environment for, like, breathing. It was very Hitleresque — the last days of Berlin sort of thing."

Freelancing From Home - Think About Tattoo Design Contests

One way that tattoo designers can market their designs is by doing freelance work from home. Tattoo design contest is something that will allow both designers as well as tattoo enthusiasts to create and market their designs. One can even let other artists know about the contest so that they too can participate in the contest. Another way to market designs is by putting them up on the websites where the designer is a registered member. This way their work of art will be visible on internet to the whole world.

When looking at freelancing, there are some other areas that are great to get more visibility in the marketplace. For example; websites which provide the designers and the clients with a platform to find work/ projects to create tattoos and offer jobs to create tattoo designs respectively. These websites have numerous fields/ areas where designers can bid for jobs as freelance designers. Once a prospective client sponsors a job on any such site, it marks the beginning of a great contest with applicants from all over the world.

Also, one can take a look on the internet for other contests that offer freelance tattoo designers to participate in them. Many of these are open to new artists but, they do have some rules that designers new to the world of freelancing must be aware of, such as:

1. The designs must be completely original designs. There are millions of designs available, but the one submitted should in no way be close to one already created in somebody else's name.

2. The designs fall into various classes for size, color, placement, and categories that could include tribal designs, caricatures, fantasy, abstract, and many others, (so make sure the designs are entered in the correct classes).

3. All entries have to be submitted within a specified size for each class in terms of both width and height of the tattoo.

4. All entries have to be submitted by a specified date, and most contests do not make exceptions for late entries.

5. Edging for the entries are decided within the contest rules, some require smooth edging; others can be indeterminate or uneven. So, one should be careful about these details.

6. All tattoos that are entered must be created by the artists at the time of the contest and should be based on client's tattoo ideas and personal preferences.

7. Judges are not told about the designer of the tattoo, the designer, or the customer being tattooed. In most contests, the judges are just shown the tattoos in the different classes. Some may even require a photograph of the body part prior to the tattoo being considered as a potential winner in order to verify that the tattoo design was conceived and completed at the contest itself.

8. Generally there are age limits for the clients in the contest; but some require the participants to be at least 18 years of age or older.

A great way for tattoo designers that are freelancing from home is to start considering participating in tattoo design contests. It could be by either participating in various tattoo design contests, and another can be to host the contests and display your portfolio so that the artists and participants in the contest can also see your designs for future use.

Jim Belushi Weed SNAFU In Martha's Vineyard

Jim Belushi just learned a valuable lesson -- don't fly into Martha's Vineyard with a fat ass joint in your pocket ... unless you wanna lose it.

Sources tell TMZ, Jim was at the uppity Martha's Vineyard airport on Friday -- when TSA agents discovered a marijuana cigarette on the actor's person.

We're told Jim tried to justify his pot by brandishing his California medical marijuana card -- but he quickly learned ... medical marijuana cards don't mean jack in Massachusetts.

We're told the West Tisbury Police were notified ... but since the amount was so small -- and marijuana possession has been decriminalized in Massachusetts -- cops just confiscated the drug and let Jim off with a warning.

Total buzz kill. Calls to Jim's camp were not returned.

How To Prevent Hiring Overpriced Tattoo Designers

Having tattoos is a practice that started several centuries ago. Through time, its purposes varied from being a decorative addition to the body, to having them done for spiritual reasons, for identification, for cosmetic or medical reasons or for social purposes. Now, as tattooing becomes more popular and more accessible to the public, lots of new designs and innovations in this field are being introduced.

You can now have tattoos done at a very affordable price. All you need to do is find a tattoo designer to create a design of your choice and a skilled tattoo artist to ink that design on your body. However, you must be cautious and avoid overpriced designers. In the market today there are always some designers who tend to overcharge for their work.

You therefore need to be aware of how to identify overpriced tattoo designers. There are at least three effective ways on how you can accomplish this.

One way to do this effectively is to know the factors that dictate the price of a tattoo design. Most of the time, these factors include the design details, the time/ duration for the application of the tattoo, its size, complexity and intricacy of the design and the background of the designer.

It makes sense if complex designs cost more. Similarly, the amount of time and the effort therein, to apply the design may also result in a higher price. Larger tattoos need more clarity and are more expensive. Lastly, the background of the designer i.e. his experience, skill, knowledge and the rapport that he or she shares with the clients can also be a deciding factor. Sometimes a designer may charge more purely because of their reputation in the market.

Another way to save yourself from buying an overpriced design is to do some research on the prevailing rates of tattoo designs similar to the one that you intend to have. You can even compare the rates of designs that fall in the same category, but are created by different designers.

You would, of course, need to compare apples with apples, so make sure you make a comparison between designs that are of the same size and are equally complex. Most of the time, the size is the only major factor in assessing the price of a tattoo design. For example, the prices of small designs for your wrist, foot and ankle, range from $50 to $150. On the other hand, the prices of larger designs that cover your whole back, sleeve or leg, range from $500 to $2,000 each.

The third possible way to refrain from hiring an overpriced designers to look at several marketplaces for tattoo designs. For instance, there are tattoo design sites that have online marketplaces which provides you with a platform to have customized designs. On such sites, you can create online tattoo design contests where designers from across the globe participate and create for you the best design based on your tattoo ideas and preferences. Since they compete for prize money that is decided at the time of launching the contest, one gets a custom tattoo design at a relatively competitive price. This is all the more important because custom designs are otherwise very expensive when compared with the regular ones.

While these three ways are very effective, it is recommended that you also take into consideration other factors as well, like your budget, preference for a designer, time constrain and the purpose of having a tattoo before you hire a tattoo designer.
