Rock Band Secrets That Will Help Your Band Book Gigs and Get Signed to a Record Deal

If you are like most bands, the thing you want now more than anything in the world is to get your band signed to a record label. However, the issue of financing can get in the way and make you want to quit. This article will give you some tips the rock bands use to get financing until they get signed.

Sadly, getting your band financed is harder today than it's ever been. Since the economy blows right now and banks are reluctant to lend money to people, getting credit is difficult. But, there are ways around this.

Bartering is a great way to book gigs. Remember, if you want to get signed, you'll need to have a list of gigs under your belt. What you do here is offer to play for a charitable event. The cool thing is you can even ask for a sponsor for this. This sponsor could lead to financing in the future. It's a long way around the credit issue, but it works. And, you'll be able to schedule some gigs without costing you a dime.

If your band has never actually sat down and wrote out what you need to get financed, here's a short list for you to follow. You'll need funds for:

· Manufacturing

· Distribution

· Consumption

· Touring

Obviously, once you get signed most of these out of pocket expenses are no longer up to you. But until you get signed, you'll be footing the bill for these expenses.

The good thing is, half of that list above is real easy to do and real cheap. For example, manufacturing would involve real production of CDs. However, you can distribute your music digitally these days which will be a lot cheaper than a CD. You can even sell your songs on Amazon, one by one.

Distribution is the same way. Years ago you had to actually make a physical CD or tape. However, now if your band has a blog, you can just post your songs on your blog for digital downloads. Again, this is real easy and real cheap to do.

However, if you plan on touring the costs can get pretty high, even if you just plan on staying local. So do what you can to use the bartering trick I mentioned earlier.

Those are some of the secrets rock bands use to get financing. Remember, if you want to your band to get signed, you'll need to play at lots of venues. And if you're just starting out, bartering is the way to go.

Dream On - Aerosmith

I love this song!

Dream On By: Aerosmith

Every time I look in the mirror
All these lines on my face getting clearer
The past is gone
It went by, like dusk to dawn
Isn't that the way
Everybody's got their dues in life to pay

Yeah, I know nobody knows
where it comes and where it goes
I know it's everybody's sin
You got to lose to know how to win

Half my life's
in books' written pages
Lived and learned from fools and
from sages
You know it's true
All the things come back to you

Sing with me, sing for the year
Sing for the laughter, sing for the tear
Sing with me now, if it's just for today
Maybe tomorrow, the good lord will take you away

Yeah, sing with me, sing for the year
sing for the laughter, sing for the tear
sing with me, if it's just for today
Maybe tomorrow, the good Lord will take you away

Dream On Dream On Dream On
Dream until your dream comes true
Dream On Dream On Dream On
Dream until your dream comes through
Dream On Dream On Dream On
Dream On Dream On
Dream On Dream On, Ahhhhhhhhhhh

Sing with me, sing for the year
sing for the laughter, sing for the tear
sing with me now, if it's just for today
Maybe tomorrow, the good Lord will take you away
Sing with me, sing for the year
sing for the laughter, sing for the tear
Sing with me now, if it's just for today
Maybe tomorrow, the good Lord will take you away.....

Guitar Lessons For Beginners and What You Should Know

So you got yourself a guitar and you are ready to learn how to play it. Where do you start? What kind of lessons should you take? These are probably some of the questions you are asking yourself. Finding the right guitar lessons for beginners can be confusing because there is just so much material available nowadays. Of course one of the biggest factors will be what kind of money are you willing to spend on guitar lessons. As you have probably already discovered, there are a lot of free lessons on the internet. There are literally thousands of videos on YouTube that cover all different aspects of playing guitar. A lot of them are very good. The problem with the free lessons that are available is that if you are a complete beginner you really do not know what you should be learning first. As a beginner it is highly recommended that you use some sort of structured guitar lessons. Here is an overview of some of the different options for you.

Private instruction- Taking private lessons from a qualified guitar instructor is one of the most beneficial ways to learn guitar. However, this is a costly method. Private guitar lessons can cost anywhere from 20 to 40 dollars an hour. One lesson per week is the recommended frequency, so you can see that this can be expensive, but if money is not an issue this is a great way to go.

Another option that a lot of beginners will use is guitar instruction books. Before the advent of the internet this was one of the most common ways to learn guitar. Guitar books are very affordable but there are drawbacks to this method of learning. It is possible to pick up bad habits or techniques by working out of a book and some of these can be very hard to break later on. Guitar books that are targeted to certain aspects of guitar playing can be very useful once you have learned the basics of guitar.

A very popular method of taking guitar lessons for beginners is online guitar lesson membership websites. These sites usually charge a monthly fee to become a member, but the good ones are well worth it. They have numerous instructors covering all aspects of guitar playing and have lessons appropriate for beginners all the way to advanced players. Most of them have thousands of video lessons. A nice feature of of these sites is the community aspect of them. They have chat rooms and forums so you are able to talk to the instructors and other guitar students. This is a great way to keep you motivated and you do not have to worry if you do not understand a certain lesson. You will be able to get all your questions answered. These sites are very reasonably priced, but it is worth shopping around as they are all set up a little differently.

The Beatles Rock Band - Video Game Review

Author: Roberto Sedycias

The Beatles Rock Band is a game that was well anticipated by fans of the Beatles and by gamers alike. For anyone who enjoys playing rock band games, this game is a fun experience. Even if you never grew up listening to the Beatles music, you just might become a fan of their music when you hear it like this. An easy game with lots of history built in and fun facts about The Beatles and their band.

This game is not for the intense Rock Band player. It will not have you playing amazing guitar riffs or playing a solo drum piece, but it will give you hours of easy music play mixed in with music played by The Beatles.

For hard core fans of The Beatles, this game will provide a new outlet to enjoy the band and a fun way to explore the music and pay tribute to a well loved group. In the game itself, there are ways to unlock photos of The Beatles and unlock some brief history facts the information actually comes from Sir Paul himself. With an added bonus of released videos of The Beatles, it is a real treat to be rewarded with such fantastic rewards.

With the power to jump right into quick play on or offline, you can quickly enjoy a full track list of songs minus one that is due to be let out soon. The music play is not too hard so you can really enjoy the music and not stress out too much over what you are actually doing.

There is no customization to the characters like most gamers are used to. The Beatles are simply who they are and you cannot change anything about them. The characters change as they go from their early day`s music, to their later days and the changes are true with how the band members actually looked during those periods.

The stages that you get to play on are amazing. You can play in Shea stadium and Budokan during the early days and experience some easy songs from that era. The stages look realistic with screaming teenaged fans and patrolling police officers.

In the `realistic` option the crowd is pumped up so loud that you can barely hear the lyrics over the screams. But most players will not mind because it might make them feel like they are a part of the band in a strange sort of way.

There are variations to songs played repeatedly and all songs follow audio taken from the studio. The song `I am a Walrus` offers a magic mystery tour where the band members are in animal forms and the whole appearance is pretty strange but add to the make-up of the game.

This particular game is different from other Rock Band games because you can play up to three mics at once and anyone can sing vocals instead of one person at a selected time. The guitar and drum play is fairly easy, where more of the focus is the fact that you are playing a song from The Beatles.

Fans of this game will enjoy the music and the game play itself. Harmonix takes us from reality in a studio into a dream world with limitless possibilities. Whether you`re a diehard Beatles fan or trying it out for the first time, you will become a fan after some game play in The Beatles Rock Band.
